 Didn't meet expectations! August 30, 2010

After reading some of the more positive reviews, I took a chance on this camcorder and this time got burned! I have more professional camcorders too since I produce wedding videos, marketing videos, and videos for work on the side. So I'm not comparing this camcorder to them. But I have also had 1ccd cameras (older ones), that produce video quality that far exceeds this camera! The video images are blurry even when recorded outside in full daylight. Very disappointed. But I basically bought the camcorder to rewind tapes and transfer video to PC from other camcorders I use, so it's not as big an issue with me. I couldn't even sell this camcorder on ebay someday because I wouldn't want someone else to get ripped off. Stay away from this camcorder. In fact, stay away from Canon for camcorders unless you're talking about the more semi-professional ones.

La video cámara funciona muy bien .
Es un buen producto , espero que me vaya mejor porque adquirí unz ZR200 y me duró tan solo 1 año , a pesar de usarla poco.

Good value. Easy to download video to computer as long as computer has firewire connection. May have stabilization issues, but need to look further into the camcorder's options.

Purchased from Amazon...speedy delivery!
Used it for 3 months and then noticed a pixel bun-in (one small dot was always red). Not a huge problem unless you watch recorded video on a BIG screen. The dot was the size of a pencil eraser.
Canon paid for shipping both ways and repaired it perfectly...no questions asked (or money for that matter). And it was done within 10 days!
By the way this camera takes great pictures on an SD card (uses USB to transfer).
Takes grate video on a miniDV tape (yes tape). The video is transferred via firewire.
I LOVE THIS CAMERA. Canon is wonderful to work with.

I purchased this camera as a gift for my husband. He has been very happy with it. He has used it on a tripod to film his railroad layout and got very good results. It is a good camera for a reasonable price.
