 An excellent purchase. January 7, 2009
As a researcher, having a back up of my work is vital. This hard drive works well and requires no software. It is plenty big enough for my storage needs and looks nice. I know that some have commented that the lights are too bright, but you can turn them off. I would buy it again if I ever needed more storage.

I have stored over 11,000 photos, copies of all of my files, music, games, and all of my programs, and barely have taken up 1/3 of the space available. I am very pleased with the product and service so much that I bought one as a gift for someone else.
Good for what i use it for December 16, 2008
I bought this hard drive a month or two ago and I only use it for mp3 storage. Basically I just want something that has lots of storage and didnt have a lot of costly extras, because i dont use them
The drive is fast enough and it was a breeze to set up.

I bought two of these devices, one for my household and one for a non-profit organization. I was able to set both up quickly and easily, and have no problems with either of them. They were very good out-of-the-box experiences, and unobtrusively and automatically back-up everything I have tagged. It definitely is a faster experience to use the firewire than the the USB, but both work well.
